Security Alarm Installation in Newcastle & the Hunter
Netlink installs and services intruder-alarm systems for homes, workshops, offices and warehouses across Newcastle and the Hunter. Wired and wireless sensors, modern keypads, external sirens and mobile-app arm / disarm / notifications — designed against the actual property rather than a fixed package.
Alarms are most effective as part of a layered approach — sensors and sirens deter and detect, while CCTV records and mobile notifications keep the customer informed. Netlink can deliver the alarm alongside the CCTV and cabling side of the site under one visit where practical.

Wired and wireless alarm systems
Modern alarm panels support both wired and wireless sensors. The right choice depends on the property.
- Wired sensors are ideal in new builds, renovations or homes with easy cable access — no batteries to replace.
- Wireless sensors are useful for retrofits and where cable access is difficult, with long-life batteries and supervised radio signalling.
- Hybrid systems mix both, using wired sensors where cabling is easy and wireless where it isn't.
- Keypad(s) and external sirens are usually wired for reliability, even in a mostly-wireless system.
Self-monitored, back-to-base or a mix
Most current systems support self-monitoring via a mobile app — the customer receives push notifications when the alarm triggers. Where a customer wants a professional monitoring service, the panel can generally be configured to signal to a monitoring provider of their choice.
Netlink does not operate an in-house 24/7 monitoring centre and does not provide staffed alarm response.

Security alarm FAQs
What types of alarm systems does Netlink install?
Modern wired and wireless intruder alarm systems for homes, workshops, offices and warehouses — including motion sensors, door / window sensors, keypads, sirens and mobile-app control. The exact product depends on the property, network availability and customer preferences.
Can I arm and disarm the alarm from my phone?
Most current alarm systems support mobile-app arming, disarming and push notifications when the panel is connected to the property's internet. Netlink configures this at handover.
Do you install alarms alongside CCTV?
Yes. Alarms and CCTV are often installed together and can share cabling routes and communications-room space. See our CCTV installation page for the camera side.
Do you offer 24/7 monitoring?
Netlink does not operate an in-house 24/7 monitoring centre. Systems can be configured to work with a customer-selected monitoring provider where the panel supports it, or purely with self-monitored mobile notifications.
Can Netlink service an existing alarm?
Often yes. We can assess an existing system, replace batteries or sensors, reprogram user codes and upgrade or replace the panel where practical.
Are wireless sensors reliable?
Modern wireless sensors from reputable brands are reliable for many properties, with supervised radio signalling and long-life batteries. Wired sensors remain the choice where cable access is easy or where a purely wired system is preferred.
Does the alarm system work in a power outage?
Alarm panels include a backup battery designed to keep the system running for a limited time during a power outage. Battery capacity varies by product and battery age; we recommend replacing backup batteries periodically.
How much does alarm installation cost?
It depends on the property size, number of sensors, wired vs wireless, keypad locations, mobile-app requirements, and whether the job is a new install or an upgrade. Request an assessment for a tailored quote.
