Need a data-cabling fault checked? Call 1300 890 470 or send us a photo of the outlet, rack or affected area — a Netlink cabler will confirm what a site visit involves. Not every fault can be diagnosed remotely, but a photo usually helps us scope the call-out accurately.

Cat6, Cat6A, fibre, racks and Wi-Fi cabling.
If you're preparing your building for a new NBN business connection, start with an NBN business site-readiness assessment before the appointment — separate service, same team. For fibre splicing work, see our fibre splicing service. For home offices see residential data cabling.
Cat6 & Cat6A Structured Cabling
Copper structured cabling for offices, shops, warehouses and multi-tenant sites — from one additional outlet up to a full fit-out. We advise on Cat6 vs Cat6A based on your building, cable-run lengths and how long the cabling needs to last.
Office & Fit-Out Cabling
New office cabling, MDF / IDF builds, patch-panel termination and cable management. After-hours installation is available by arrangement to reduce disruption to your business.
Warehouse & Industrial
Longer cable runs, PoE for scanners and cameras, ruggedised terminations and appropriate containment for warehouses, distribution centres and industrial sites.
Fibre Backbones & Links
Single-mode and multi-mode fibre between floors, buildings and comms rooms — fusion splicing, LC / SC / MPO terminations. Fibre testing and OTDR reporting are available according to the project scope.
Scheduled to reduce disruption. Documented for handover.
For builders and fit-out contractors we can quote from plans or tender documents, coordinate with other trades on program, and provide handover documentation appropriate to the agreed scope. After-hours installation is available by arrangement.
White Card, SWMS, JSAs and insurance certificates available on request.
As-built drawings, cable schedules and test reports available according to project requirements.
We coordinate with electricians, HVAC and security contractors on program.
ACMA registered cabler, Security Licence M/L 00110958, public liability and workers compensation.

What Affects the Cost of Commercial Data Cabling?
Every job is different, so pricing depends on:
- Number of outlets
- Cat6 vs Cat6A
- Cable-route lengths
- Wall, ceiling and floor access
- Existing trays, conduit and containment
- New containment requirements
- Rack and patch-panel requirements
- After-hours access
- Access equipment (e.g. scissor lifts)
- Fibre vs copper
- Testing and certification scope
- Documentation requirements
- Travel to regional locations
- Live-site safety requirements
Send us the outlet count, floor plan, site photos or tender documents for a tailored quotation. Small jobs and large projects are both welcome.

Commercial data cabling — your questions answered.
Do you accept small commercial data-cabling jobs?
Yes. Netlink handles jobs of all sizes — from a single additional data outlet or a faulty connection through to full office, warehouse or shop fit-outs. There's no minimum project size; send us a description of what you need and we'll come back with a written scope and quotation.
Can you install one or two additional data outlets?
Yes. Adding one or two data outlets for a new workstation, printer or Wi-Fi access point is a common request. We can pull the new cable, terminate the outlet, patch it back to your rack (or install a small patch panel if none exists), test the link and label both ends.
Do you repair faulty data outlets?
Yes. If a data outlet has stopped working intermittently or completely, we can attend site, test the affected link end-to-end, identify whether the fault is at the outlet, along the cable run or at the patch panel, and either re-terminate or replace the cabling as needed.
Can you test and identify existing cabling?
Yes. We can test existing Cat5e, Cat6 or Cat6A links, trace unlabelled outlets back to the rack, and label both ends. If a link fails performance testing we'll document that clearly so you can plan any remediation.
What is the difference between Cat6 and Cat6A?
Cat6 supports 1 Gigabit Ethernet at up to 100 metres and 10 Gigabit Ethernet at shorter runs. Cat6A supports 10 Gigabit Ethernet across the full 100-metre channel and handles higher-power PoE more comfortably. Cat6 is often the right choice for a small shop or single-tenancy office; Cat6A is generally the better long-term investment for larger fit-outs or premises expected to be in service for many years. We're happy to advise based on your specific building and expected use.
Can you install cabling for Wi-Fi access points?
Yes. We install the structured cabling that feeds ceiling or wall-mounted Wi-Fi access points — typically Cat6 or Cat6A back to the comms rack with PoE-capable termination. Configuration of the access points and controller is normally handled by your IT provider; we align cable positions with their wireless design.
Do you install racks and patch panels?
Rack supply, patch-panel termination and cable management are available where required. Small jobs may not need a new rack — additional outlets can be patched into an existing panel. For larger fit-outs we can supply and install wall-mount or floor-standing racks with structured cable management, labelled patch panels and dressing to the agreed scope.
Can you work with our IT provider?
Yes. We routinely coordinate with an existing IT provider or MSP so the cabling handover integrates cleanly with switching, wireless and telephony. Our scope typically stops at the labelled patch panel; theirs begins there. Boundaries are agreed in writing before work starts.
Can you quote from plans or tender documents?
Yes. Send us floor plans, tender documents, cabling schedules or a site visit — we'll return a written scope of works and quotation. For builders and fit-out contractors we can attend pre-construction meetings when needed.
What affects the cost of commercial data cabling?
Number of outlets, choice of Cat6 or Cat6A, cable-run lengths, access to walls / ceilings / floors, any new containment required, rack and patch-panel scope, testing and documentation requirements, after-hours access, and travel to regional locations all influence the final quotation. Send us the outlet count, floor plan, site photos or tender documents for a tailored price.
Do you provide testing and handover documentation?
Installed cabling is tested and documented according to the agreed scope and applicable requirements. Formal channel-certification reports (including Fluke or DTX-level testing) and as-built cabling schedules can be included where required by the customer, consultant or project specification — we agree this up front so the deliverables match the brief.
Which areas do you service?
Netlink is based in Boolaroo and services Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland, Cessnock, Port Stephens and the wider Hunter Region. We travel to Singleton, Muswellbrook and parts of the Central Coast by arrangement — send us the site address and we'll confirm coverage.

Ready for a quote?
Send us the outlet count, floor plan, site photos or tender documents and we'll come back with a written scope and quotation. Small jobs, repairs and full fit-outs are all welcome.
