Intercom Installation in Newcastle & the Hunter

Netlink installs modern video and IP intercoms for homes, apartments, offices and gated properties across Newcastle and the Hunter — Cat6 cabling, weather-resistant external panels, internal monitors or handsets, mobile-app answer setup and integration with electric strikes or gate controllers where compatible.

The right intercom depends on the property, whether the entry has power and network access, and whether the customer wants to answer on their phone. We assess the site first and quote against the actual property.

Frequently asked questions

Intercom installation FAQs

What types of intercom does Netlink install?

Video intercoms, audio intercoms and IP / network-based intercoms — for single homes, apartment buildings, offices, warehouses and gated properties. We install both new systems and replacements for older units.

Can an intercom be integrated with an electric lock or gate?

In many cases yes, where the intercom supplies a compatible relay output and the lock or gate has a suitable input. Compatibility is confirmed against the specific products before installation.

Do IP intercoms need Cat6 cabling?

Most IP intercoms need a Cat6 (or similar) Ethernet cable back to the network, and Power over Ethernet is common. Netlink installs the required data cabling as part of the job.

Can I answer the intercom on my phone?

Many current video intercoms support mobile-app answer and notifications when connected to the property's internet. This depends on the selected product and network setup.

Can Netlink replace an old intercom?

Yes. We can assess whether the existing cabling can be reused and recommend a compatible modern unit — or replace the cabling where the old wiring is no longer suitable.

Do you install multi-apartment intercoms?

Yes. Netlink installs multi-tenant intercoms for strata and multi-dwelling buildings, including riser cabling, entry-panel programming and per-unit handsets or apps.

Can the intercom also control the driveway gate?

Where the intercom and gate controller are compatible, yes. We confirm compatibility before quoting the integration.

How much does intercom installation cost?

It depends on the intercom type, cable route length, existing cabling, wall and ceiling construction, whether a gate / lock relay is required, and the number of internal monitors or handsets. Request an assessment for a tailored quote.
